Passing out the School Scholarships
SALM67 Ministires Children's Support Initiative has a goal of impacting the next generation of Vietnamese children for Christ. This program is many-fold. First, it provides school scholarships to children in need who are not able to pay for the school uniform, supplies and fees required for school attendance in Vietnam. For the past several years, the ministry has been able to partner with the local churches, who work through the local school authorities, to hand out these scholarships to children in need, while explaining the gospel message of the love and hope found in Christ. Year after year, your generous giving and the Lord's blessing have allowed us to hand out more scholarships than we ever thought possible.
Hand-crafted backpacks filled with the Love of Jesus!
The second area of outreach is the distribution of filled backpacks to school children. This program started in 2017 thanks to the generous support of a furniture manufacturer, located in Vietnam. He realized he had a lot of fabric scraps left over after fabrication so he decided to use what would normally have been discarded to create hand-crafted backpacks. He donates these to the ministry and we then fill them with school supplies, snacks and personal items before distributing them to the children. We have been able to adopt entire schools and pass out these unique backpacks, filled with the love of Jesus!
A third element of this outreach initiative is to help people in need by providing food bags. Each bag is designed to provide the essentials to feed an average family for a week.
Working through the pastors and their local churches, this ministry has been able to feed hundreds over the years.
Vietnam has been hit hard during these months of pandemic and many families have had limited access to basic necessities.
Food Bags not only meet real physical needs, but as they are always handed out along with God’s message of hope and love found in Jesus, spiritual needs are being met as well.
